OFFSET and Digital printing

Offset and Digital Printing are two modern and effective technologies for customizing corrugated cardboard boxes and displays or paperboard packaging. Offset printing is a process developed in the early 20th century to match the accuracy and extreme definition of lithography on an industrial scale. Digital printing, on the other hand, is a true revolution of recent decades. Both offer excellent quality, but they differ in their production methods and the advantages they offer depending on volume and customization needs.

Offset printing is an indirect printing process in which a plate matrix transfers ink onto a rubber roller, which then applies the ink to the cardboard. This method guarantees extremely detailed results. The images are sharp, with vivid colors and clear details that enhance the corrugated packaging. One key aspect of offset printing is the need to create a custom plate matrix for each project. This requires a higher initial cost, but it is effectively amortized over large print runs, making offset printing a cost-effective solution for large-scale industrial productions. Even with high volumes, offset printing ensures exceptional color consistency and long-lasting graphics, with no quality variations from one copy to the next.

Digital printing, on the other hand, is perfect for small print runs and custom production batches. It is an innovative technology that allows direct printing on the cardboard without the need to prepare a plate or printing press. This eliminates setup times and reduces initial costs, making it the ideal choice for those needing speed and flexibility. Unlike offset printing, digital printing allows for the production of single copies or small batches without waste, while still maintaining high-quality detail. Each print can be uniquely customized, allowing variations in graphics, colors, and text without additional costs. This makes it perfect for projects requiring individual customization, such as promotional packaging, event or trade show displays, and small series with variable designs.
